CodaKid, a Scottsdale Arizona-based kids coding and game design academy, announced that it will be launching kids coding classes in Chandler at TechShop. Classes will begin on Saturdays in October, and will feature CodaKid’s flagship class, Modding for Minecraft with Java as well as a number of computer programming and game design classes. TechShop is located in ASU’s Chandler Innovation Center in downtown Chandler, and will allow customers in the Southeast Valley to have easier access to CodaKid’s innovative kids programming classes.
“The CodaKid/TechShop partnership is a perfect match,” said David Dodge, CEO of CodaKid. “Both organizations have built a strong reputation for providing cutting edge instruction in STEM disciplines, and both organizations have a shared vision of turning the Phoenix Valley area into a leading US tech hub.”
CodaKid also plans to offer its popular Saturday night Code-a-thons at the TechShop location, allowing affordable intro coding workshops for beginners. “Our Code-a-thons in Old Town have been wildly popular and we are frequently sold out for weeks in advance” said Dodge. “The TechShop location in Chandler will offer engaging workshops for kids, and a fun night out for parents, who can drop off and enjoy a night out in downtown Chandler, which has some great restaurants, theaters, and other attractions.”
TechShop is located at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center at 249 E Chicago St, Chandler, AZ 85225 and CodaKid classes will be held in Room 130.
